2009 Success Stories -Part 2
Updated 9/7/2009

INDY
has a great active home where he'll get daily walks and exercise and will probably be able to frequent some doggie daycares in the Waukesha area so that he has some friends to play with occasionally.
  GRACIE
is a very timid blue merle girl that came in on all sorts of medications for anxiety. She's found the perfect home who's experienced in working with puppymill shelties and Gracie now says "NO" to drugs and lives with three other shelties.
  AJAX (was Peppy)
gets to hang out in a fenced yard playing with two other WSR shelties, Darcy and Walker. Hopefully with those two for companions, he won't be so worried about the fast cars going by!
  FORD
is a great old guy that we got off of Craig's List who was living outside (including in the winter!) He now sleeps on the bed or the couch if he can find a space between two collies, a golden and a crabby mix.
  SOPHIE
has a great home with another sheltie...named Sophie. That should be easy enough!

NIKE
got a home with a great family who adopted a bonded pair several years ago and they recently passed on. Nike's breeding days are now over and she might be looking for a new playmate in the future!
  CHARLIE
found a great home because I brought him to the reunion and a couple fell in love with his big loveable personality. His only downfall is that he likes to chase motorcycles, so I was a little worried when I brought him to his new house and there was a gorgeous Harley parked in the garage. They're working on it with him. I doubt he'll ever be riding in a side car, but hopefully he'll learn to be a biker-loving dude.
  SOPHIE (was Gina)
lives with an adorable sheltie mix named Rocky. He's teaching her all the cool dog things in life that she missed out on in the puppymill that she's lived in until she came to rescue.
  CODY
is doing great in his new home with a huge yard and 2nd story deck to look out onto the whole neighborhood. His new family is learning to put their food far back on the counter as he loves to counter surf.
  VICTOR
will be staying in his foster home and is adopted. He gets to go out and experience a lot of new things that he's never gotten before and he has two blue brothers to play with and a sweet golden retriever.

TOMMY
has a great home with a sheltie brother named Cosmo. In the past, these people have always adopted seniors and only had the joy of having them for a short time. This time they wanted someone who was willing to put up with Cosmo's antics and play with him so Tommy was perfect for them. He was surrendered to an area shelter for being too clingy. Hmmmm.... surrendered for loving their owner. That's a new one!
  GEORGE (was THOR)
makes his home with two other sheltie boys. He came from IL and now was adopted back to IL. He must have been subconsciously telling me that he didn't want to be a Packer fan :)
  LINUS
went to a foster home while I was at the nationals and fell in love with the neighbor lady who then applied to adopt him. Linus lives next door to several shelties and gets long walks to burn off some of the fat he gained from being a stray.
  AXEL
was listed on Craigs list by a woman who purchased him as a gift for her mother who soon realized how much work a puppy is. He now has a great home with three other shelties and people who KNOW how much work a puppy is :)
  JOE
Finally! After being here since September, Joe finally has a home and it's with a veterinarian so he's going to get all the care that a senior citizen needs. I swear that if he wasn't adopted this month I was going to take him out of the newsletter but now he has his own home.

AJAY
the cute fuzzy 12 year old who was recently returned because the people were moving, now has a great forever retirement home and his very own little princess sheltie named Zippy. So far, he's playing hard to get, but Zippy is quite persistent and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they're chasing each other around the yard!
  CASSIE
came to us with congenital kidney issues and she now has a great home with a couple who is familiar with kidney issues from their last sheltie. They live very close to the vet school where the treatment that she needs is available. Cassie has two WSR sheltie sisters.
  WALKER
is the last of the Thorpe Dog Auction puppies to get to his new home and he's delighted to have a WSR sheltie sister named Darci and a fun fenced in back yard. They live pretty close so I can watch him grow up.
  SAM
has a great home with a nice big fenced in yard and patio doors to watch the bunnies and squirrels all day. He was a little lost when I took him there, but there are other dogs in the neighborhood that he'll soon be meeting and getting to play wi
  COOPER
was adopted by previous WSR adopters whose shelties all have a job to do....chasing geese off a golf course! Once Cooper gets a little bigger (and faster) he'll be right after his brothers Cody and Cosmo doing the same thing each summer.
